SAN JOSE, Calif. (July 17, 2017) – Del Grande Dealer Group (DGDG.com), the Bay Area’s largest family-owned automotive group, recently partnered with the Subaru Share the Love event to raise $15,350 for San Jose- based Sacred Heart Community Service, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential services to individuals and families in need.
Held each year, Subaru donates $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased to a host of charitable partners, per the selection of each customer. This year’s four national charities included the ASPCA®, Make-A- Wish®, Meals on Wheels America and National Park Foundation. In addition, DGDG’s Capitol Subaru participated in the hometown charity matching donation program to support San Jose-based Sacred Heart Community Service.
“The DGDG dealer group as a business and the Del Grande family truly believe that giving back and being a part of the community is extremely important,” said DGDG President Shaun Del Grande. “Being able to support amazing organizations like Sacred Heart right here in our community is what we are all about at DGDG, we all want to make this a better place.”
The ninth annual Subaru Share the Love event raised a total of more than $24 million for national and local charities including Sacred Heart Community Service. More than $94 million has been donated to charities throughout life of campaign.
Participating in the Subaru Share the Love Event to support Sacred Heart is just one of the many ways Del Grande Dealer Group gives back to the community through DGDG Does Good – Del Grande Does Good, the charitable arm of the DGDG dealership group. Through relationships and partnerships with charitable organizations, like Sacred Heart, employees participate to help those in need year round.
Louise Benson founded Sacred Heart Community Service in 1964 to feed hungry families in her neighborhood. Based in San Jose, Sacred Heart provides essential services to individuals and families in need. Sacred Heart moved into its current facility in 1998, where today it meets basic human rights such as food, clothing, and housing assistance, while at the same time offering the tools for self-sufficiency, including employment assistance, family mentoring, and adult and youth education programs. In 2008, Sacred Heart was selected by the State of California to be the Community Action Agency for Santa Clara County. sacredheartcs.org.
