The all-new Kia Sorento is ready for any adventure. The 2021 Kia Sorento sits on an all-new platform and has a range of powerful new engines, including a new turbocharged hybrid powertrain.
The three-row SUV has a refreshed look and feel. It has a boxier look and bolder styling than the previous Sorento.
A 191-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is standard and a 281-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder is also available. Both have an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the hybrid model uses a six-speed automatic. The Sorento hybrid features the combination of a turbo 1.6-liter four-cylinder gas engine and a 44-kW electric motor. The Sorento is expected to be able to tow up to 3500 pounds.
Kia estimates the base 2.5-liter engine will earn 27 mpg combined and the turbocharged 2.5-liter will earn 25 mpg combined. The hybrid earns 39 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway for a combined 37 mpg.
The Sorento will have an 8.0-inch touchscreen or an optional 10.25-inch touchscreen. There’s also an optional 12-speaker Bose sound system and a wireless charging pad, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
Safety features include Smart Cruise Control w/Stop & Go, Blind Spot Assistance, 360 Degree Surround View Monitoring, Rear Occupant Alert, Parking Collision Avoidance, Forward Collision Avoidance, and Safe Exit Assist.
