2021 Hyundai Santa Fe

One of the key players in the hot midsize SUV category got a serious update for 2021. The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe is built on a new platform and is all-new under the hood.

The Santa Fe’s standard engine is now a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 191 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque that is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, with FWD standard and AWD optional. The upgraded Santa Fe engine is now a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 277 hp and 311 lb-ft and uses an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. 

New for 2021 is a hybrid model. It has a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine and a hybrid system of a 13 kW electric motor and 1.5 kWh battery to produce 225 combined horsepower. Power is routed to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.   

The Santa Fe is  available in four trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited and Calligraphy. On the SE, SEL and Limited trim, front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional. The Calligraphy comes standard with all-wheel drive.

The exterior of the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe is heavily refreshed, with a standout new rectangular grille with vertical LEDs. There’s also a new T-shaped taillight design, with a horizontal light bar that connects the two taillights. 

The 2021 Santa Fe offers 36.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, or 72.1 cubic feet with the second row folded down.

Inside, there is an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with an available 10.3-inch. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity are standard, while the larger display gets built-in navigation. An available 12.3-inch digital gauge display can show a live video view of what’s in the vehicle’s blind spots. Premium tech options include a head-up display, wireless charging pad, 360-degree view camera system, and 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. 

The 2021 Santa Fe is equipped with Hyundai’s SmartSense driver-assist and active safety suite that includes Forward collision mitigation, Lane keeping assist, Lane keeping system, Trailer sway damping, and Adaptive cruise control
